Dispute resolution

Legal disputes can be complex and time-consuming – particularly if they go to court – distracting you from running your business.

So when a dispute arises, you need to know your options and have clear answers to some critical questions. What are my realistic chances of success? How long will it take? How much will it cost? Is it worth it?

Only then will you have the confidence to balance the risks and make the right decisions.

Our dispute resolution team is one of the best around, because we are not afraid to give our clients the honest truth. If we believe the financial or emotional costs of going into battle are likely to be too high, we will tell you.

Often a negotiated settlement is the best option, allowing you to settle the matter quickly and efficiently, and get back to focusing on your business.

But if the dispute does go to court, you can be reassured that you will have the support of an experienced, heavyweight team of litigation experts.

The independent legal directory Chambers UK 2013 says we act “on a wide range of dispute matters such as IT, IP, property and professional negligence claims…Clients say, ‘These guys bring added value. They’ve absolutely come to know our business and they share in our wins.’”

If you would like to find out more, please call Paul Whitaker on 023 8071 6125 or email him here.

Often the best commercial outcome for you in a dispute will be a negotiated settlement, rather than the ‘all-or-nothing’ risk of going to court.

And the courts themselves are increasingly encouraging firms to seek a solution in this manner.

We can advise and support you on the different Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) options available for resolving a commercial dispute, including mediation, arbitration, expert determination and negotiation.

If litigation is necessary we will explore with you the possible ways for you to fund it.  You might already have some cover for litigation costs in place with an insurer or other third party.  Alternatively, in appropriate cases you might be able to share the risk of the litigation with Moore Blatch or with a third party (such as an insurer or professional funding company).

Our hourly rates range from £150 to £250.  We will provide a detailed estimate of costs and explain any funding options available.
