Any UK business trading overseas will at some point need to submit documentation in a foreign legal jurisdiction, which will require notarisation by a Notary in the UK and, usually, legalisation as well.

This  requirement is becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide, covering anything from property transactions and  contracts, to powers of attorney, patent registrations and much more.

To avoid unnecessary delays and costs, it is essential that all documentation is completed and notarised correctly. These requirements differ between countries, and it is not always clear to the non-specialist what needs to be done and when.
