Accidents Involving Animals
"If you have been injured in an accident involving an animal, you may be able to claim for compensation" Damian Horan, Partner & Head of Moore Blatch Resolve
Animal owners and keepers have a duty to ensure their animals do not cause injury. This includes them being kept under control and properly restrained. The most common types of claim include animal attacks and road traffic accidents where an animal has strayed onto a highway.
These claims are complex and require a Solicitor with a thorough knowledge of this area of personal injury law. In the case of an animal attack, in order to be successful you must be able to show that the animal had a pattern of dangerous characteristics and the owner failed to take adequate precautions to prevent the attack. In the case of an animal straying onto a highway if it can be shown the owner has failed to maintain a safe environment for road users things are a little more straightforward, but the claim will still require careful investigation.
If you or a member of your family has been injured in an accident involving an animal you may be able to claim compensation.
