Moore Blatch riding high in latest legal rankings
Hampshire law firm Moore Blatch is celebrating after the recent release of two of the legal industry’s ‘bibles’ – The Lawyer UK 200 and the Legal 500.
The firm, which has offices in Southampton, Whiteley, Lymington and Richmond, has moved up significantly compared to competitors in the area to position 118 in the ranks of The Lawyer’s top 200 law firms in the UK. Up from position 136 two years ago, Moore Blatch is also only one of two legal firms in the area that has displayed significant growth.
“We are delighted with the results of the latest listing from The Lawyer - it’s a great boost for all the teams involved and for them to receive recognition for their continued hard work,” said managing partner David Thompson.
Moore Blatch has also reinforced its South East credentials in the latest Legal 500, which independently assesses law firms throughout the country.
Special mentions were given to individual teams with the corporate department combining ‘expert advice’ and ‘all the benefits of an experienced City firm’. Individual team members also received praise with property partners Michael Caton and Julian Parkes having ‘excellent communication skills’. David Thompson’s health and safety work on behalf of companies and individuals was also highlighted.
David Charlesworth’s tax and trusts team was commended for ‘explaining complex issues in a non technical way’, whilst the firms’ personal injury team was said to be skilled in handling complex spinal and brain injury cases. Most notably, the team recently acted for a former prison officer who developed post-traumatic stress disorder as a consequence of working with offenders. Personal injury lawyer Ciaran McCabe, who handled the case, was also recommended by Legal 500 as ‘tenacious, resilient and determined’.
Tim Spring and the clinical negligence team, which recently advised on two multimillion pound cerebral palsy and severe brain injury cases, were also highlighted as ‘fantastic’.
David concludes: “We are pleased with our continued solid position in the Legal 500, and it’s particularly rewarding for staff members to receive such positive comments.”
