Moore Blatch restructures wealth management service
South coast law firm Moore Blatch is restructuring its wealth management division with the creation of three dedicated teams.
The teams covering Tax and Trusts, Court of Protection and Probate will continue to be run by head of division Helen Starkie but will be structured to better cater for the growing client base.
With more than 30 years experience in private client work, Helen believes the department’s success is based on providing clients with a personal and bespoke service, which continues to be recognised in key legal directories.
“Our expertise in key areas has been crucial in expanding this area of the business for Moore Blatch and with three separate departments within wealth management we can concentrate on structured growth,’’ said Helen who will also play an integral role in business development for the law firm.
Heading up the Tax and Trust division will be Carla Brown who has more than 13 years legal experience including estate planning, wills and contentious probate issues. She will be supported by a team of legal advisors together with staff who have accountancy and taxation backgrounds.
“Legal expertise is just one area of this business and to have all disciplines under one roof gives customers a complete service,’’ said Helen.
The Court of Protection division is headed by Tom Mylott – a senior solicitor who joined Moore Blatch in 2008. Members of the team are experienced in all matters involving the Court of Protection which is a growing area of the law.
“Few firms can match our level of expertise in dealing with matters for individuals who lack capacity,’’ said Helen. “The team is also actively working for clients in the areas of deputyships and powers of attorney.’’
The third team, Probate, is headed by senior solicitor Joyce Bradbeer who has worked at Moore Blatch since 2002. “This team focuses on the preparation of Wills, Deeds of Variance and the administration of estates,’’ said Helen. “This is an increasingly complex subject often involving family issues and high net worth clients.’’
Moore Blatch managing partner David Thompson said the new structure would put the wealth management division in the strongest position possible for increased growth in the future. “We have already demonstrated our expertise in these areas with highly qualified and experienced professionals and this restructure reflects the important role wealth management plays at Moore Blatch, both now and in the future.’’
