Associate Solicitor and Head of Education
I am an associate solicitor in the firm’s education law team, with particular expertise in cases involving special education needs, exclusions and children who have not been allocated a place of their choice.
My clients above all want what is best for their child, and need to know how the law can help them achieve it. Often this involves challenging decisions by Local Authorities or resolving disputes with schools.
This is a fast-developing area of the law, and it requires a no-nonsense, pragmatic approach balanced by the sensitivity needed to sort out an issue that can be very distressing for the parents and child.
I bring to bear my past experience advising local authorities on these issues, so I have an excellent understanding of how they make their decisions and what the options really are in any situation. This gives my clients the reassurance of knowing they have someone on their side who really knows how the system works, and how the law can help them.
