Successful introduction of new shift system
We acted for a lending company that had decided to introduce a new shift system to improve operational performance. The new shifts would result in changes to employees’ contracted hours and overtime arrangements. Having looked at the situation in detail, and bearing in mind the need for a smooth transition, we prepared an implementation strategy and identified the potential legal risks involved. We then advised on the correct procedure to follow, drafted the relevant correspondence to staff and prepared a script for the consultation meetings. We supported our client at every step and helped sort out the issues that arose along the way. All the contractual changes were completed on schedule, but just as importantly, we helped our client maintain good staff relations and minimise the stress for all involved.
