Successful negotiation of much improved severance package
Our client, a senior executive and director was notified by his employers that he was to be made redundant. Having been offered an enhanced redundancy package on condition that he entered into a compromise agreement, he came to us for advice and support. We looked into the detail, negotiated a better package and adjusted the terms of the severance payment to reduce his tax liability. We also persuaded the employer that the proposed date for the termination of his employment should be delayed, allowing him time to exercise his share options. As a result of these negotiations our client received a significantly enhanced severance package.
