Exposure to asbestos when repairing boilers in 1950 leads to successful compensation claim
Our 79 year old client was exposed to asbestos when employed from 1949 to 1950 as an apprentice heating engineer. He repaired boilers and mixed up and applied asbestos lagging. His pleural thickening was estimated to be causing 20% respiratory disability and it was unlikely that this would progress. The claim was settled on a full and final damages basis for £28,500.
