Providing immediate legal advice in the event of an accident
If there has been an accident in your workplace, you will undoubtedly be facing an investigation by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Any investigation, whether you are at fault or not, could potentially damage your business or lead to a loss of man-hours if work needs to be stopped for the investigation to take place. In the event of an accident, you will need immediate legal advice to ensure you avoid any unnecessary obstacles whilst resolving an issue.
We understand the severity of an investigation by the HSE and as such have a vast amount of experience defending cases on behalf of businesses and individuals who have had an accident happen within their workplace. As such, our expert solicitors are the right choice when it comes to offering immediate legal advice in the event of an accident. Call us today to discuss your circumstances.
In the event of an accident in the workplace, the HSE states that an employer must report all work related deaths, certain work-related injuries, cases of disease and any near-misses involving your employees wherever they are working.
If however you are in control of the premises, you must report any work-related deaths, certain injuries to members of the public and self-employed people on your premises, and dangerous occurrences (some near miss incidents) that occur on your premises.
All injuries must be recorded and reported, by law, under The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).
If an accident occurs within your place of work, the HSE may draw upon any previous reports of injury or near misses including any supporting evidence to decide where the fault lies, and may choose to investigate your place of work. In these circumstances, having the very best solicitors on your side to ensure a smooth investigation and to ensure your best interests are looked after is vital.
