Food poisoning

There are a startling amount of cases every year involving serious food poisoning, throughout the UK.

Some symptoms can be cleared within a few days, however, some can be much more serious.

If you think that you are suffering from food poisoning it is vital that you visit your GP to obtain a firm diagnosis with samples being sent for testing to confirm the bacteria which has caused the problem. This will form the basis of any future claim.

It is also very important that you report it to your local Environmental Health Officer as soon as possible in order that they can begin to investigate without delay.

If you, or a member of your family, have suffered from food poisoning you may be able to claim for compensation against either the manufacturer or the seller of the food.

You will be entitled to compensation for your pain and suffering and you can also claim for loss of earnings, the cost of medical treatment and any other reasonable expenses that you have incurred as a result of food poisoning.
