Moore Blatch is delighted to announce that it has promoted partner and licensed conveyancer, Claire Anderson, from the residential property team in the Southampton office to equity partner.
Claire is an inspirational female figure within Moore Blatch and manages the residential property and plots department, where the teams undertake all residential work, specialising in new-build, plots, shared ownership and investor portfolios, as well as repossessions.
She has been with Moore Blatch for almost ten years and says, “Hard work is generally recognised and rewarded here. Also, I like to inspire women. I have a three year old girl, but having family does not mean that you cannot have a career. A significant number of people – both inside and outside of work – have mentioned to me that they think it’s great to see a woman with a child progress in their career.”
In her current line of work Claire represents individuals, but also handles commercial clients, such as lenders, and therefore need to be very adaptable to her clients’ needs – as she says “there is no ‘one box fits all’ strategy”. And, in the age of the 24/7 electronic era, the team also needs to be able to adapt to the needs of the new age clientele in order to operate properly.
April 2016 saw a downturn in the number of home buyers, although house prices did not drop. Due to the change in stamp duty, the team had to work within tight timescales and, in one particular case, they had to turn around the workload within one week: “We like challenges at Moore Blatch”, says Claire, “We will always get it done working together as a team”.
In Claire’s down time, she is a family woman and likes to spend weekends in her wellies at Longdown Dairy Farm in Ashurst. On the rare occasion she is not spending time with the family outside of work, she likes to go to the gym or cinema.
