Moore Blatch promotes David Bright to partner

1st June 2016

Moore Blatch is delighted to announce that it has promoted associate solicitor David Bright from the corporate and commercial team in the Southampton office to partner.

David joined Moore Blatch in December 2009 and was promoted to associate solicitor in May 2014.  He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, business affairs, joint ventures, company restructuring and partnership matters. Prior to this he worked for Horsey Lightly, which he joined in 2004 as a trainee solicitor.

“I am personally really pleased to secure a promotion within Moore Blatch.  The firm has an ambitious strategy for growth and is forward looking, and I feel that these assets reflect my own personal aims.  There is a nice collegiate, family and team ethos to Moore Blatch and the firm inspires a lot of loyalty amongst its staff, so I am delighted to be part of this going forward.”

Outside of work David remains busy.  He is a keen sportsman and has run in two London Marathons.  He also enjoys football and snowboarding.  In addition, he is an accomplished musician, playing the trumpet, piano and guitar.  David is also the lead singer and guitarist of a band that performs at weddings.

However, in David’s spare time he volunteers with the Oasis Charitable Trust and Oasis Charitable Partnership, where he sits on the board.  The Group is a worldwide organisation spanning 11 countries, including India, Bangladesh and South Africa, and runs 47 academies across the UK.  They look to work with local communities initiating innovative projects and campaigns, such as the creation of new health centres and libraries.

“Last month, I attended an event at the House of Lords where many MPs were in attendance to discuss and address social change with the Oasis Group.  It is a hugely dynamic organisation driving real community transformation.  I am proud to be part of the organisation.”

David grew up in Farnham, Surrey, but now lives with his wife and two young children in Newbury in Berkshire.  As a student he attended Swansea University, followed by a postgraduate diploma in legal practice at Cardiff University.
