I am a partner in the firm’s clinical negligence team, specialising in complex claims involving cauda equina syndrome, orthopaedic, gynaecological, obstetric cases and brain injury cases.
My clients are often concerned initially about the complexity of the claims process, so I make sure I guide them through the legal maze and give them the clarity they need to feel reassured and confident.
I am approachable and open with my clients, and take the time to get to know them and understand their concerns. I know the whole process can be daunting, so I want to reassure them as much as possible that they are in good hands.

"I would like to start by saying thank you. Throughout this 9 years you have been a pillar and a rock through the duration of this process. You made me feel that I had someone to count on,someone to rely on, and someone that would listen when things were hard, when I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. You are a special person because you have treated me, my daughter and son with care, attention and professionalism, you understood the difficulties that we were dealing with and gave us the strength to carry on. Through your professionalism you did not forget that you were working with people and you took into consideration our emotions, even when times and communication were hard. Thank you for being this special person, and helping my daughter son and me having a bright future as a family.” Ms DS Dec 2018 (Moore Blatch represented the infant daughter who sustained a significant brain injury as a result of delays in transport to hospital following an obstetric emergency and for whom we achieved a high value settlement).

"Ensuring that my family were financially secure after the realisation that I would not be able to develop my career after 4 failed hip operations, was my motivation for contacting Maya Sushila at Moore Blatch. Having been recommended by a friend who works in the area of clinical negligence in another part of the country, Maya and her fantastic team of experts excelled all of my expectations. Maya's advice was well informed and easily understood. Always on hand to answer questions and eager to move the case on, Maya put together an impressive schedule of loss which provided evidence from experts in many fields to ensure that the real implications of the clinical negligence were clear for all to see, including the defendant. Although I was unsurprised that we achieved a successful settlement, it surpassed my expectations. The financial settlement that Maya secured has made my financial future secure. Her real understanding of the impact of clinical negligence on families in my situation also helped me to put a closure to the whole series of negativity following the 1st failed operation. Not only am I much more able to come to terms with what has happened to me medically, but am happy knowing that whatever happens in the future, My wife and children will be able to cope. Thank you very much." Client
"Thank you for all that you have done for me over the last three years or so. It seems difficult to put into words exactly how I feel, but I think it's fair to say you have been so much more than just my solicitor. Your expertise in clinical negligence has been truly outstanding and your professionalism absolutely first class. However, equally importantly you have been a confidante and a friend, consistently giving advice, support and belief all the way through what has been a difficult journey.
Now that journey is coming to an end I am so grateful for the skilfully negotiated settlement you have secured. Of course I would swap any settlement for my health back, but that can't happen. Knowing that my financial future is secure and knowing that I can support my family and move on with my life means everything to me.
Without you that would not have happened. Speaking to you was one of the best decisions I have ever made." Mr JC - March 2017
"7 & 1/2 years ago I underwent a routine operation that went drastically wrong leaving me wheelchair bound & needing care for the rest of my life. I contacted Moore Blatch 5 years ago who put me in contact with Maya Sushila their medical injuries expert. It was the best decision I could have made. Maya has been a close part of my life since that 1st call, she consulted me & my close family on every development of my case. She has supported us when times got extremely difficult & gave me a pep talk when needed. Maya has always been professional & has fought extremely hard every step of the way & ensured I had the best experts & advice to aid my claim. Due to Maya & her team my case has been successful. I cannot thank her enough for ensuring that for the rest of my life I have the means to receive the best care possible. Thank you Maya. Thank you Moore Blatch.” Ms S, private client
