I am the firm's senior partner and head of personal injury. I also have overall responsibility for the firm’s litigation services division. I am regarded as one of the UK's leading catastrophic personal injury lawyers. Moore Blatch is ranked in band 1 for both personal injury and clinical negligence with both the leading independent directories Chambers UK and Legal 500.
I have two key areas of practice which I am passionate about - severe brain injury and spinal cord injury. Spinal cord injury cases are dealt with through the award winning Aspire law - www.aspirelaw.co.uk - a separate law firm I created with the leading spinal cord injury charity Aspire.
The severe life changing brain injury cases I handle through Moore Blatch are for both adults and children. I work closely with charities concerned with brain injury most notably Headway and the Child Brain Injury Trust. Over the course of my career I have dealt with a significant number of claims, many resulting in seven-figure settlements. My interest has always extended far beyond maximising compensation awards; one of my key priorities has been to enable the effective rehabilitation of my clients. I act for clients across the UK and internationally. I also have significant experience of acting in cases where the injury was sustained abroad.
My aim is to obtain interim payments wherever possible, to provide monies for my client and so that I can put rehabilitation, a care package and suitable accommodation in place at as early a stage as possible and ideally before my client even leaves a hospital. I am fortunate to have a dedicated team of lawyers who work alongside me and who have vast experience of succeeding in complex and high-value brain injury claims. We assemble a partner led team for every brain injury claim we handle. Each team deals only with a small number of cases at any one time, enabling them to provide a proactive and personal service, thereby achieving the best possible level of compensation in the shortest possible time.
As a team, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our clients.
My clients’ main concern is to secure fair compensation for what are serious life-changing injuries. They want the peace of mind of knowing that their future medical needs and care will be adequately covered. I also have many years of experience of dealing with clients who lack capacity to manage their own affairs; I am a Court of Protection approved Deputy.
I often initially see clients at major trauma centres, hospitals or rehabilitation centres throughout the country. I also see clients at their homes or if it is more convenient, I will arrange an appointment at an appropriate venue close to their home. I am also able to see clients at our offices in London, Richmond, Southampton and have access to meeting rooms in most major cities.
