Alison Lloyd

Associate

Area of Expertise

  • Probate Services

I have worked in probate for over 20 years qualifying as a Legal Executive in 1998. I joined Moore Blatch as an associate in 2016 having worked for firms in Dorset previously.

I act for executors and personal representatives who can be close family or friends of the person who has passed away and for professional executors such as the partners at Moore Blatch. I assist them in obtaining the Grant of Representation/probate to the estate, collating all information about the deceased’s assets and reporting as appropriate to the Inland Revenue with a view to distributing the deceased’s estate as quickly and efficiently as possible either in accordance with the terms of the will or under the intestacy rules.

As above and in addition ensuring that all appropriate reliefs and exemptions are claimed. I also ensure that I have a sympathetic approach to the situation having empathy and understanding to the client and their family’s needs.

In my previous employment I also undertook will drafting, inheritance tax planning, court of protection applications, registering enduring powers of attorney and lasting powers of attorney, as well as estate administration.

I am married with a daughter and enjoy cooking, reading and socialising with family and friends.

Memberships:

  • Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners – I am currently a member of the Bournemouth committee (previously secretary)

  • Solicitors for the Elderly – I am currently on the South Central committee
