I qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and have specialised in family law ever since. I joined Moore Blatch in January 2018 as an Associate in the family team.
I act for clients who are separating, or divorcing, and represent them in the most constructive and supportive way possible. I help them to resolve their financial matters alongside their separation or divorce, and deal with any disputes which might arise about the time any children spend with each of them. I guide them through the available options to help my clients choose the best process for them and their particular circumstances. Whilst my approach is to avoid litigation unless really necessary, I do of course act for clients in court proceedings or arbitration where they have significant disputes about their finances and/or children, for example if there is a dispute about the value of trust or business interests, or whether children should be removed from the jurisdiction to live abroad. I have acted for several clients where there are cross-jurisdictional international issues, for example dealing with enforcement of foreign orders.
I also act for clients wanting a pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreement, and cohabiting clients considering a living together agreement.
I encourage clients to take a constructive approach where possible, to minimise acrimony, delays in resolving matters and costs. I am a trained collaborative lawyer and family law mediator. I frequently act for clients, or couples, in a process sitting round a table to sort matters out. This often involves experts in other areas to provide clients with a holistic approach and comprehensive service, such as family and financial consultants.
I am a founding member of the Hampshire Family Legal Solutions Group and regularly act for clients choosing this type of collaborative process which puts the needs of the family, especially any children, first.
I enjoy swimming, Pilates and generally keeping fit. I volunteer at my local church by helping with one of the youth groups which gives me the opportunity to play lots of fun games I otherwise would no longer get to play, such as pass the parcel and musical chairs!
